Join us for a special musical performance by the woodwind quintet from the U.S. Fleet Forces Navy Band based in Norfolk, VA.
After the 45 minute performance, ask the sailors questions, learn about their instruments and take photos with the band. All ages are welcome.
This event is part of a national tour honoring the Navy’s legacy and sharing their mission through music and in celebration of the Navy’s 250th birthday.
ABOUT THE BAND
Established in 1945, the U.S. Fleet Forces (USFF) Band, known as "The Finest of the Fleet," serves as the musical ambassador for Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, in Norfolk, Virginia. Under the direction of Lt. Cmdr. Joel Davidson, the USFF Band is comprised of 45 Navy musicians that perform in a variety of ensembles and performs for more than 400 engagements annually.
Its primary mission is to support Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, by providing musical support for military ceremonies and events, foreign dignitaries, and Navy community outreach engagements throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and Ohio River Valley areas of the U.S. The band also regularly deploys to Central and South America.
ABOUT NAVY WEEK COLUMBUS
The U.S. Navy is bringing Navy Week to Columbus, Ohio from Aug. 18-24, 2025. As part of a nationwide outreach effort, Columbus Navy Week will connect Sailors with the community through a variety of performances, educational events, and service projects. The events will lead into the Columbus Air Show Aug. 22-24 at Rickenbacker International Airport, featuring the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels.
