Ready or Not? Assessing Readiness for Fundraising
A Stronger Together Breakout Session
Wednesday, September 16
11:00am - 12:00pm
Main Library
Meeting Room 2BHear from expert fundraiser Regina Alhassan about your organization can become ready to implement a successful fundraising strategy.
"Ready" gets used a lot in fundraising — ready for a campaign, ready to invest in prospect research, ready to build out a major gifts pipeline. But readiness isn't one thing, and most organizations are further along on some fronts than others. In this session, ResearchPRO founder Regina Alhassan draws on 25+ years as a prospect development practitioner to break down what readiness actually looks like at the campaign level, the research/data level, and the internal capacity level — and how to tell the difference between "not ready yet" and "ready, but missing the right systems." Attendees will leave with a practical framework for assessing their own readiness and a clear sense of what to fix first.
Participants will learn to:
- Distinguish between campaign readiness, research/data readiness, and internal capacity readiness — and identify which one is holding your organization back
- Apply a practical three-tier framework (Foundation Building, Building Momentum, Ready to Scale) to assess your organization's research and data maturity
- Understand why CRM health and frontline fundraiser capacity should come before any tool or wealth screening purchase
- Leave with a self-assessment approach to identify what to fix first, whether preparing for a campaign or strengthening year-round fundraising infrastructure
