We'll welcome keynote speaker Doreen Uhas Sauer, deemed "Columbus' history teacher" by the Columbus Dispatch. Uhas Sauer will reflect upon the last 250 years of Columbus history, from colonization to the present. 

Also, bring in items from your own family history to be scanned into our digital archives and take a tour of the Local History & Genealogy space and Digital Lab.

View history exhibits on the 3rd Floor and History Gallery. Come with your research questions to get help from Main Library’s Local History & Genealogy staff.

1:30 PM Keynote: Doreen Uhas Sauer (Auditorium). Deemed "Columbus' history teacher" by the Columbus Dispatch, Doreen Uhas Sauer reflects upon the last 250 years of Columbus history, from colonization to the present. 

2:30 PM - "Unveiling Family Legacies: Verifying Native American Ancestry and Tribal Affiliation" with Aimee Rose-Haynes (Auditorium). Aimee Rose-Haynes is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and is also a public speaker dedicated to reconnecting individuals with their lost heritage and biological families. A proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation, she has spent years assisting Native descendants in rediscovering their roots, offering guidance through the intricate processes of genealogy, DNA analysis, and tribal enrollment. 

3:30 - Preview THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. This six-part, 12-hour documentary will premiere on Sunday, November 16, 2025, and air for six consecutive nights through Friday, November 21 at 8:00-10:00 p.m. Watch a preview and learn more about upcoming opportunities.

4:00 PM - "Revolutionary War Veterans Graves Project" with Krista Horrocks, Ohio History Connection. Learn more about how you can participate in an inspiring statewide initiative from the Ohio History Connection: The Revolutionary War Veterans Graves Project. In collaboration with the Ohio State Historic Preservation Office, Terracon Consultants, Inc., and local chapters of the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, this project seeks to identify, document, and map the final resting places of an estimated 7,000 Revolutionary War patriots buried in Ohio.

All activities and sessions are free. Afternoon refreshments provided. Seating is limited. Registration recommended.
