Discover the Iditarod: The Last Great Race - Hear a live presentation, explore hands-on displays, race coverage, and make-and-take activities that let you learn and create. Perfect for kids & families
Join Jim Deprez, Co-Director of the Education Department for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Alaska, and 3rd grade teacher in Hilliard, to learn more about the Iditarod - what it is and how it works.
Hear a live presentation, explore some gear, equipment, maps, hands-on displays, and race-themed make-and-take activities that let you learn, touch, and create. Stick around later to ask any follow-up questions you may have about anything Iditarod related! In addition to teaching us how the race works, we'll also be viewing some LIVE coverage of the race. Perfect for curious kids & families, and educators looking to bring a truly unique, interdisciplinary, adventure-learning style unit to their students.
