Celebrating Holidays While Aging
As we age, our family systems have been re-structured. Children have grown, and other loved ones may have died, leaving empty chairs at the table. We may live hundreds of miles from family members or close friends. Decorating, baking, and shopping can become more of a struggle than a joy as we age. These changes will almost certainly impact the way we celebrate holidays.
How are your holidays different today than they were 25 years ago? What traditions have you maintained, and which ones have you eliminated or modified? Join us to share your tips and thoughts for an enjoyable holiday season!
Betsy Smalley (retired social worker, Clintonville resident, and member of Village in the Ville) will facilitate this group discussion.
