Ohioana Book Festival panel discussion
Sunday, April 25 │ 1-2 p.m.
Join us for an expert panel of award-winning authors of thrilling fiction for younger readers. The panelists will discuss their current and back catalog of books and answer audience questions.
Panel is moderated by Nola Colegrove from Columbus Metropolitan Library's Southeast Branch.
Mindy McGinnis is a novelist who writes across multiple genres, including post-apocalyptic, historical, thriller, contemporary, mystery and fantasy. While her settings may change, you can count on Mindy’s books to deliver grit, truth, and an unflinching look at humanity and the world around us.
A Madness So Discreet won an Edgar Award for Best YA Fiction, and Heroine was a recent breakout.
Natalie D. Richards is a lifelong Ohioan who spent many years applying her writing skills to stunningly boring business documents. Fortunately, she realized she’s much better at making things up, and has been writing for teens ever since. A champion of aspiring authors, Richards is a frequent speaker at schools, libraries and writing groups.
Her seven YA books include Five Total Strangers, Six Months Later, and One Was Lost.
Maria Romasco-Moore is the author of Ghostographs, an interconnected collection of flash fiction inspired by vintage photographs. Kirkus called her 2020 novel, Some Kind of Animal, “a compelling, unpredictable, and uncompromisingly dark debut.”
She is a graduate of the Clarion West Writer’s Workshop and has an MFA from Southern Illinois University. She teaches writing at Columbus College of Art and Design.
R.L. Stine is the creator of the bestselling Goosebumps series, which has more than 400 million copies in print worldwide and celebrated 25 years in 2017. Goosebumps is one of the bestselling children's series of all-time and inspired a popular television show as well as a feature film starring Jack Black that opened at #1 during its box office run.
His other popular children's books include the series Fear Street, Mostly Ghostly, The Nightmare Room, and Rotten School. His first picture book with Marc Brown is The Little Shop of Monsters.
