ABOUT THE BOOK
Told through the POV of a child marcher and her memory scrapbook, Step by Step!: How The Lincoln Marchers Blazed a Trail to Justice remembers the persistent group of Black mothers in the small town of Hillsboro, Ohio, who marched their children to the White school demanding admission in 1954 following Brown v. Board of Education. After being rejected, they woke up the next morning and marched again. And again. And again. For two years!
